My best intellect was born yesterday
Poet: Calvin Joe Moore
Category: Sonnet

My best intellect was born yesterday,
And my dumb will still tries to be the best.
Loving myself, for me, is the right way;
My pride and vanity didn’t pass the test.
This pure love for a woman chang’d my life,
And taught me how precious life really is,
And let me know that pure love is not mine.
Loving another is surely all His.
Heaven always knew that His love prevails,
Yea, He gave us notice a long time ago.
Yesterday, I realiz’d He is the nails;
I rested in His glory and His flow.
When we are born again, we lose ourselves,
Then wisdom will chime with the ringing bells.
